Have Some Buffs!

We've improved several cards that were underperforming due to being undertuned or having strong failure cases in their usage. Check it out!

Rat King: Now gains +1 Attack or Health per rat. Base stats changed to 2/2.
Courthouse: Cost reduced to (1), and spell cost increased to (2).
Doomship: Cost reduced to (7).
Frog Prince: HP increased to 4.
Grave Knight: Zombie count reduced to 3, but attack increased to 5.
Con Artist: HP reduced to 3.
Lionel: Cost reduced to (5).
Hand of Judgment: Redesigned. Now increases the cost of all spell cards in the opponent’s hand by (3). If they have no spells, draw a card.
Power Sink: Cost reduced to (1).
Wrath of Judgment: Damage increased to 3.
Killer Monkey: HP increased to 2.
Essence of Hatred: Now draws a card if your opponent has no spells.
Cryonic Augmentation: Redesigned. Now Cryonic Pain: Give a unit -1/-1 and Frostbite it.
Circle of Life: Healing increased to 4.
Great White Shot: Now only deals damage to enemies.
Precognition: Returned card now costs (0).

LARGE BUFF PATCH

Hello everyone! With today’s patch, we are putting a large focus on buffing and reworking underplayed or underperforming cards, as we continue to discover what sorts of things work and don’t work for this game and what kind of stat profiles are acceptable. We’ve taken a comprehensive look at the state of play and each individual card, and have upgraded a number of under-utilized or confusing cards to open up even more gameplay options and make the new player experience even smoother. Balance Hotfix

Infernal Furnace: Now costs (3), and has a 2 activation limit.
Library: No longer increases the max hand size, and now has a 5 activation limit.
Armory: Now has a 5 activation limit. Cost reduced to (1).
Dwarven Miner: Changed to add a random Item to your hand after it attacks.
Lava Font: Damage increased to 3.

Minor Update - Counters

We've observed that with the increased number of counter mechanics added to the game, the board state can at times be a little heavy on extra numbers and bump up the complexity a little more than we'd like. We are making a few low impact tweaks to address this, and want to be more judicious about using counter-based cards in the future.

The health of buildings has mostly been standardized at 4.
The health of snipers has mostly been standardized at 2.
Developer’s Note: By making these categories have consistent health, we make it easier for player’s to intuit the board state even when there are counters displayed.
Frog Prince: No longer has a turn limited ability. Stats reduced to 4/3.
Developer’s Note: At 3 health, the Frog Prince is vulnerable to many forms of AOE and removal, so he should not frustrate players as much as earlier versions.
Library and Armory no longer have an activation limit.
Courthouse: Effect and cost both reduced to (1). (This is unrelated but should probably happen now as this card's interaction with Con Artist is pushing things a bit far)

Minor Update

Charge units can now strike summoned buildings.
School of Time: Now cannot be used on the same turn it is played.
Infernal Furnace: Simplified to an active ability that costs (2), but no longer has an activation limit. In addition, furnace cannot give you another fire spell.
Southport Slayer: Now has Elusive.

A few recently updated cards are turning out much more effective than we anticipated, and need adjustments. In addition, Hand of Judgment has been irritating players a little too much, and has been redesigned. Because of all the recent changes, we're adding a new limited time promo code PARROT which grants 5 free card packs!

Eye of Flame: Damage reduced to 2.
Dwarf Miner: HP reduced to 3.
Salahar Voyager: HP reduced to 4, and it now only gains treasure after attacking.
Hand of Judgment: Redesigned. View 3 common cards in your opponent’s hand. Choose one for them to discard.
Infestation: Now shuffles 2 rats into your opponent’s deck only.

Minor Lightning Patch

Hello everyone! We still have a few design updates to make as we move ever closer to our upcoming mobile releases. Take a look!

- Ragnar: Redesigned. Berserk, Deal 2 damage amongst enemies each time you summon a friendly unit.
-Dev Note: Ragnar’s previous scaling was fun but heavily constrained the design of any future lightning effects. We want to add more lightning ball spam effects in the future when characters like Thor and Odin arrive, and we can’t do that if Ragnar is 4xing the damage.
- Storm Weapon: Redesigned. Give a unit +2 Attack, and your next Lightning spell costs (1) less.
- Temple of the Five Gods: Summoned units now cost (2) and have Berserk instead of Chain Lightning.
- Fist of the Five Gods: Redesigned. Now costs (2). Deal 2 damage to a unit and another random enemy.
- Dev Note: We’re going to stop assigning Chain Lightning to random units - the mechanic is easier to learn and remember if it’s associated with a specific unit visual instead of many random units having and only distinguished with a visual animation.
- Corpse Explosion: Cost increased to (3).
- Con Artist: Item count reduced to 2.
- Rat King: Base stats changed to 0/3.
- Lightning Bolt: Cost reduced to 2.
- Doomship: Now requires 7 UNITS instead of 5 pirates to awaken, but its stats have been reduced to 5/8.
- Dev Note: Changing to any unit type instead of just pirate cards should greatly increase the flexibility of this card and make it more feasible to build decks around awakening the Doomship.

Minor Balance Patch

Players have been asking us for a few more defensive options in neutral, and we agree this could use a bit of touching up as the current pool is somewhat light.

Imperial Guard: Now 3/4 with no armor.
Earth Knight: Now also heals your castle for 2 when played.
Storm Weapon: Attack bonus increased to 3.
Horseback Samurai: Cost reduction now counts all units (instead of just enemies).

Dwarven Construction: Redesigned. Now, view 3 random buildings. Choose one to add to your hand.
Dwarven Greed: Cost increased to 1, and bonus treasure increased to 2.
Dark Bargain: Cost increased to 2, and attack bonus increased to 5.
Maul: Cost increased to 3, and damage increased to 4.

PATCH NOTES
Frostbite now dissipates as soon as the target skips its actions. This change to the timing of frost effects will make no difference in most situations.
Yaarhym Titan: Now has CLEAVE instead of Chain Lightning.
Lava Giant: Redesigned. Now has BERSERK, and deals 1 damage to everything else when your turn ends. Stats changed to 2/6.
Circle of Life: Now heals all allies (instead of a 3x3 area).
Knight of Flowers: HP reduced to 4.

We recommend players update their Steam client as soon as possible for correct graphics associated with these changes!
