Important Bug Fixes

Build #341 should be available on the Play Store and the App Store. This build contains important bug fixes and it is recommended that all users download it as soon as possible. Updates can propagate at different times for different users, so check back in an hour or so if you do not see the build available on your store yet.

Card Tweak

Slight tweak: garrote has been changed to 1 bleed and 2 damage. Previous version slipped past us in its similarity to disembowel.

Server Stability

In order to address recent issues with server stability, all matches that have not been played for more than 24 days have been terminated. This should result in a significant reduction in current database load, and we plan to implement this cleanup process on a regular basis. Please be advised that no rank or results occur from this removal, the dead matches are simply deleted. Thank you for your understanding!

Match Start Tweak

We just changed the bonus for second player from +1 card to +1 gold. We believe that the increased gold is more equivalent to board presence than the +1 card, and might be a more even way of balancing starting player advantage. We are going to closely monitor stats for this change and may re-evaluate our starting mechanics in a few weeks.

Shinies Release!

We are proud to announce that our shiny cards are now ready to go! Shinies are basically a skinning system; you can buy a cosmetic alternative to an existing unit and swap that card into your deck at will. Both the card and the in-game character will have totally new art. Shiny cards count toward your 4 card per deck limit in tandem with their base cards, so this option is a cosmetic only feature. We've launched with 2 paladin shinies and will be adding more shinies for other units in the near future!

Season 3 Has Begun!

Hey folks, we decided to end the ranking season a few days early so we can more easily sync up some important changes:

- CP rewards for end of season have been vastly improved.
- Ranks no longer reset totally; instead, your rank is reduced by half at the end of the season so that less grinding is necessary for veteran players.
- Stars required for various ranks has been mostly increased for season 3.
- The threshold beyond which you can lose stars has been moved down to rank 5, and ranks below 5 now only require 1 star to advance.

We're excited about the new season and think that these balance changes will work out better for newbies and veterans alike. Remember, ranked matches are not just for veteran players but great for newbies too; everyone who participates up to rank 5 will earn a free 500 CP at the end of the month! Give it a try!

P.S. We are aware of an issue causing some players to not receive the end of season popup; rest assured your points have still been awarded and will be available after restarting your app!

Pillage

In order to address problems with base-nuking, the damage of pillage has been changed to magic. This should put it more in line with its intended effect. Its cost was also reduced to zero.

Upcoming Store Changes

We are very soon going to introduce a second currency to the store that will stand as a proxy for real money. This currency will be called Bit Points and will be available by cash purchase only. Items in the store which currently cost real money will instead cost Bit Points; this will allow us to assert much more fine-grained control over our store and prices. A few pricing changes will be accompanying the conversion to Bit Points; because we now offer bulk discounts on the Bit Points themselves, we no longer need to offer bulk discounts for booster packs. Thus the current array of booster options will be replaced by a single 10-card booster and an alternative legendary-focused booster. In addition, Daily Deals will have their pricing changed significantly and only be available for Bit Points. Shinies have also had their prices adjusted slightly. Card Point boosters remain unchanged.

Due to technical needs, we will be rolling out this change on Android today and on iOS within the next few weeks. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you enjoy the new purchase system!

Balance Patch

We've deployed a small balance patch just now, mostly affecting unit stats and a few odd spells. You can find a complete list of patch notes on the forums! Because of technical issues, the changes to minimum armor, chain lightning and retaliation have been delayed.
