Increased Card Points!

We've decided to increase the number of card points earned from matches! Both live matches and Async matches now have equivalent rewards and will each award 24 points for a victory! Defeat is still half-points. Yay!

Temple of Five Buff

Temple of the Five Gods was terrible, so we changed it to be much more awesome. We also want to move Vikings away from having percent damage buffs. So, Temple of the Five Gods is now 8 gold and gives every unit you have chain lightning. Enjoy!

Trading Post Rebalance

We decided the card per 4 turns was a little too wonky and difficult to track, so we've radically adjusted Trading Post to have a clearer functionality that is more appropriately balanced. It's now 7 gold cost and provides 1 gold per turn, but grants a card every other turn like the Library. Because card draw is a primary Crusader attribute, Pirate cards must incur a penalty when using this attribute. Additionally, Numbing Poison and Greater Corrosive Poison have had their effects reduced from 40 to 30.

Burndown Decks

We've been getting a lot of complaints about warlock rush decks that exclusively or almost exclusively kill the base with direct damage spells. Although we do like warlock's to be able to do SOME nuking against the base, nukes are not counterable by the opponent and it's not much fun to fight against a deck that ignores the entire positioning and unit combat game to rush you with nukes. We prefer that a warlock nuke deck require a healthy use of units in tandem with their nukes to be successful. As such we are rolling out a number of adjustments that specifically target this sort of strategy.

- NUMBING POISON: This case has been changed to reduce magic resist of affected targets UNTIL END OF TURN. Its name has also been changed to Combustible Poison so it's more clear what the spell does.

- BURN: Can no longer strike buildings.

- SHADOW BOLT: Can no longer strike buildings.

- FIRESTORM: Damage reduced to 300.

That's it. We hope these changes make the game a more enjoyable experience for everyone!

Announcing our Fifth Faction...

NINJAS! Many of you have guessed it already, but we are officially announcing our upcoming fifth and final faction, ninjas! Ninjas will be will be specialists in mobility, helping their units move across the field and even to and from your hand! Ninjas are also defined by their patience, introducing a new delayed action mechanic where powerful effects are granted during upcoming turns.

We expect ninjas will be released some time in August. All ninja cards will be added to the core set, meaning you can find them randomly in boosters. We will also be releasing limited edition paid-purchase ninja boosters which, while containing less cards than normal, will exclusively be filled with ninjas!

We hope you're as excited about the wide variety of ninja combos as we are!

Major Balance Patch Incoming

We wanted to make everyone aware that sometime next week or the week after we will be releasing a major balance patch. This patch is based on the ranking data we've collected since the ranked matches system has gone live. Although nothing is finalized, expect to see major improvements to pirates and a shift in warlock abilities to be less lethal and more debilitating. After reviewing our previous major balance patch, we have decided to make a few small adjustments to some pirate spells:

MERCHANT'S FAVOR - Gold granted reduced from 8 to 7

THIEF - HP reduced from 700 to 600
