Card Points Rebalance

Post by Vontre »

We are about to deploy a change to card point and booster pack balancing designed to improve the overall play experience and curb the possibility of exploitive behavior. We wanted booster packs to be more exciting and difficult to obtain, so we've increased the number of cards in a booster to 12 and added a chance to pull a double rare. To accommodate this change, card point bonuses from victory, defeat and daily have been significantly reduced. Please let us know what you think of these changes on the forums!

Idle Timeout Tweaks

Post by Vontre »

We just patched in a small change to the idle timeout mechanic; now instead of forcing an immediate surrender when a player times out it simply forfeits their turn. We think this makes more sense and will be less punishing to players who are away for a few days. Please note that this does not apply during the first two turns of a match. The turn forfeit timer is still set at 2 days.

Promotion Ending

Post by Vontre »

Thank you all for participating in our post-PAX promotion! Now that the promotion is over we are making some permanent changes to the card point economy. Booster packs will now cost 300 card points instead of returning to their original 500 price point. However, victory and daily bonuses have been reduced as well.

Poll: Fast Turn Timers!

Post by Vontre »

We are considering adding a third option for the turn timer, somewhere between real time and long-timed async matches. This mode would still be asynchronous but the enemy player would have to respond within some number of hours. If you are interested in this mode, please visit our FORUMS and post your preference for the turn timer! Check the Account options page to visit our forums, you can log in using your in-game username and password.

Card Points Awarded

Post by Vontre »

As compensation for the long server outage today, all currently existing user accounts have been granted a bonus of 3000 card points or more. We apologize for any inconvenience and are taking steps to ensure this does not happen again in the future!

Improved Matchmaking!

Post by Vontre »

We just launched a major improvement to the matchmaking system; random games will now match you against an opponent of equal skill! The downside to this is that there is some waiting involved before a player of acceptable skill becomes available. As you'd expect, the longer you are in queue the more lenient the system becomes in its match criteria. We've attempted to strike a balance between good match-ups and fast queue times, so please let us know about your experience on the forums!

Card Collection Overhaul

Post by Vontre »

We have recently made a significant overhaul to card collection mechanics; in order to make experimentation in deck building easier and more fair, all legendary cards have been significantly reduced in power to be on par with rare and common cards. In addition, most legendaries have been changed to rares so that they are easier to collect. Collection of individual cards have been slowed down as well. The intended result of these changes is that players will collect a steady stream of new and useful cards throughout their play experience, rather than being quickly blocked by legendaries. We hope this is an improved experience for everyone; further explanation of these changes is posted on our forums for those who are curious!
