Balance Tweaks

Post by Vontre »

Pirate patch finally broke the Barbarian, who has a scaling problem that has finally tipped over into broken territory. He has been rebalance as such: attack increased to 400, HP reduced to 600, movement reduced to 3. Glass cannon! Expose armor cost was also increased to 2.

Player 2 Tweak

Post by Vontre »

In order to test first turn / second turn balance, we have changed player 1 to start with 1 less card while both players start with the same gold amount. We'll be monitoring how this works out!

Big Patch Tomorrow!

Post by Vontre »

Pre-ninjas balance patch is tomorrow! Lots of changes, most of them minor and a few important meta-game shifts to solidify faction attributes and pull them away from ninja specialities. Look for the patch notes tomorrow!

Ninja Balance Patch

Post by Vontre »

We're going to go ahead and post the complete list of patch notes for tomorrow's balance patch. Our main goals with this patch are to adjust some of our factions' primary roles so that ninjas fit better with their own exclusive strengths, clean up some undesirable mechanics from our previous warlock paradigm shift, and generally tweak balance as needed. Patch changes are broken down into several categories, many changes are minor buffs/nerfs but some are more significant. You can find the complete list of changes on our forums!

End of Season 1

Post by Vontre »

It has come to our attention that some players did not receive the intended "End of Season" announcement popup. As of August 1st, all ranks have been reset and a new ranking season has begun. We have lessened the number of stars required to achieve rank in this season as well. Ranks will reset at the beginning of each month from now on!

Ninjas Release Plan

Post by Vontre »

Hey folks, we're getting close to our ninjas launch and it's about time we gave you a preview of our release plan and some of these awesome ninja mechanics! First check out a preview of a few ninja card mechanics:

- Vanish: 1g, return a unit you control to your hand. Draw a card.

- Battojutsu: 3g, target a melee unit you control that has not attacked this turn; that unit cannot attack this turn, but will gain 800 attack damage on its first attack during your next turn.

- Vanishing Powder: 3g, target an enemy unit within melee range of a unit you control; return that unit to its owner's hand.

- Replacement Technique: 3g, return a unit you control to your hand. If you play another unit this turn, it appears in the location of the returned unit.

Return to hand, and delayed action (stuff that happens on your next turn) are prevalent themes for our ninja cards. Ninjas are defined by patience and evasiveness, and will be quite deadly if you can create an opportunity.

We should have around 20-25 ninja cards total for our launch, which would put them pretty even in quantity with the other factions.

For the ninja launch, we are going to have a paid early access period and merge them into the core set shortly after. So our release plan should look something like this:

- EARLY ACCESS August 21st. Ninja cards can only be obtained through the "Ninja Early Access" booster which is $10 and contains 4 boosters filled exclusively with ninja cards. That's 16 commons and 4 rares per set, so a couple of these should get people going with ninjas right away.

- FULL RELEASE 2 weeks later! At this point ninjas are merged into the core set, so they will be available in all normal boosters including the CP booster. The Ninja Early Access Booster will still be available for the same price.

- After another month or so we'll remove the ninja booster from the store, and they will be fully integrated.

We hope you guys are excited about ninjas as we are! They are going to blow the meta wide open!

CP and Dailies Adjustment

Post by Vontre »

In response to community feedback, we have made a few changes to how card points are acquired; the daily bonus has been de-emphasized and can no longer be won from computer matches. It now provides 120 CP and 2 cards. To compensate for this change, the CP reward from a multiplayer match has been increased to 40!

CP Award

Post by Vontre »

As many of you have now realized, the recent ninja patch has introduced some critical gameplay errors involving towers and server desyncs. We have been hard at work fixing these errors, and have a new client patch on the way right now (we cannot currently determine when the patch will be available on the App Store). As a pre-emptive thank you for bearing with us through these problems, all user accounts have been awarded 500 card points. You may need to restart your app for the card points to become available.
